How it Works

Chill Lid cools and protects your hydroponic reservoir by controlling the environment inside the bucket.

Directed Internal Airflow

A fan mounted in the lid pushes air downward into the reservoir, disrupting the warm, stagnant boundary layer that forms at the water’s surface.

Evaporative Cooling

Disrupting the boundary layer supercharges evaporation by continuously exchanging humid air for drier air. As water evaporates, it removes heat from the reservoir. This process can lower reservoir temperatures below ambient air temperature.

Light-Tight Reservoir Seal

Chill Lid remains fully closed during operation, blocking stray light that would otherwise promote algae growth and nutrient degradation.

Filtered, Protected Intake

Incoming air passes through the fan intake, keeping dust, spores, pet hair, and debris out of the nutrient solution. The result is cleaner water, fewer clogs, and a more stable reservoir environment.

Stable Reservoir Microclimate

Together, these elements create a sealed, controlled microclimate inside the bucket—delivering consistent cooling while protecting water quality.
